STUCK IN THAT HIGH WATER. 907 IS YOUR TIME AND NEW THIS MORNING. MORE FIRE CREWS CALLED OUT DURING THAT SEVERE WEATHER TO PUT OUT A HOME ON FIRE. IT WAS RIGHT AROUND 130 AND A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR NORTHEAST 12TH AND TOBY KEITH AVENUE. AND AT THE TIME THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE NOT FOUND OUT WHAT THEY THINK SPARKED IT, OR WHETHER STORMS PLAYED A PART. BUT WE, OF COURSE, WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU UPDATED AS MORE INFORMATION COMES INTO OUR NEWSROOM. AND THEN THIS ALSO HAPPENING OVERNIGHT. I-40 IS BACK OPEN AT I-35 AFTER A SEMI JACKKNIFED DURING THOSE HEAVY EARLY MORNING STORMS. OUR CAMERAS WERE ON THAT SCENE AS FIRST RESPONDERS WERE WORKING TO CLEAR THE ROAD. THAT AREA WAS SHUT DOWN FOR MORE THAN TWO HOURS, BUT IT DID OPEN JUST IN TIME FOR EVERYONE’S MORNING DRIVE. 908 IS YOUR TIME IN DEVELOPING THIS MORNING, FORMER EMPLOYEES WITH OKLAHOMA CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS NOW LOOKING FOR A JOB AFTER THEY SAY THAT THEY WERE LET GO. THE DISTRICT’S NEWLY ELECTED SUPERINTENDENT SENDING US A STATEMENT SAYING SHE’S RECOMMENDING A REORGANIZATION OF STAFF AND THAT THE DISTRICT IS LOOKING TO DO BETTER WITH LESS. THE OKC CPS BOARD CHAIR TELLING KOCO, THOUGH THE EXPIRATION OF FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDS PUT OKC IN A COMPLEX FINANCIAL SITUATION AND THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT’S REVIEW WOULD RESTRUCTURE THE DISTRICT’S CENTRAL OFFICE AND OPERATIONS TEAM, I JUST FEEL LET DOWN. I FEEL LIKE, UH, THE, UM, I FEEL LIKE THERE’S ENOUGH WORK TO BECAUSE WE STAY BUSY, IT’S JUST HARD TO FIND A JOB RIGHT NOW IN TODAY’S ECONOMY, ESPECIALLY THIS QUICK. THE DISTRICT ALSO MENTIONED EFFORTS TO LOWER CLASS SIZES, AND THEY SAY THIS RESTRUCTURING WILL ALLOW THEM TO HIRE MORE TEACHERS. HAPPENING TODAY, OKLAHOMA CITY WANTS TO HEAR FROM RESIDENTS OF HISTORIC DISTRICTS ABOUT THEIR FUTURE. DURING A VIRTUAL MEETING, THEY’LL DISCUSS THE POTENTIAL TO ADD BACKYARD COTTAGES, GRANNY FLATS AND GARAGE APARTMENTS IN THESE AREAS. THAT MEETING IT STARTS TONIGHT AT SIX, AND YOU CAN FIND
