Can I buy AppleCare+ after purchase? ›

If you still need help buying an AppleCare plan, contact Apple Support. In most countries and regions, you can buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of your device purchase.

What is AppleCare? AppleCare is the standard warranty that every Apple product comes with. Typically, that includes 90 days of free product support (through phone, chat or in-store) and a one-year warranty. AppleCare+, however, extends the warranty and service, and adds an insurance-like program to your Apple gear.

Both AppleCare+ options provide repair or replacement hardware service for your iPhone. Depending on the plan you choose, you'll get unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection and up to two incidents of theft or loss coverage every 12 months. Each incident is subject to a service fee or deductible.

On your Mac, click the Apple menu in the corner of your screen. Choose System Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty. Go to mysupport.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Then choose your device to see details about the support that you're eligible for — including hardware repairs and technical support.

Either way, buying from Apple directly or an authorized reseller like BestBuy, the Apple warranty applies the same, and AppleCare is also the same.
